A museum to rock your socks off!

Bang in the heart of Dublin’s cultural quarter Temple Bar, the experience encompasses all things related to the vibrant Irish music industry over the past 30 years. We give visitors a unique opportunity to go behind the scenes of a real life working music venue & recording facilities. 

The Irish Rock n’ Roll Museum Experience will explore the development of Irish Rock music presented against the intriguing historic backdrop of the area, and its people’s need for a creative space to make, rehearse and perform music.

Tracing Irish Rock and the Irish music scene, from the 1970’s to the present day, the experience features stories revolving around an eclectic range of both Irish and international artists such as The Pogues, The Frames, U2, Thin Lizzy and Sinead O’Connor. Developing from furious passion, humble beginnings and the dilapidated rooms of Temple Lane Rehearsals into the Temple Bar Music Centre and the Temple Bar Cultural Trust – this immersive experience will encompass the complete history of the area’s people, energy, personality, growth and progress.

Visitors will receive an access all areas pass with a ticket to explore backstage at the renowned Button Factory venue, behind the Wall of Fame and to the recording studios where Glen Hansard’s Oscar Award–winning film Once was filmed and where the likes of Christy Moore, Rihanna, Will.I.Am and The Script have recorded.

Tour a Live Venue

Tour a working live music venue and recording facilities, which host the largest sound desk in the country, Apollo Studio. Discover never before told stories from behind the studios and scenes backstage. Delve into a museum packed with memorabilia from one of a kind handwritten lyrics to vintage Michael Jackson tour jackets.

Stand in Temple Lane Studios

On this tour you get a sneak peak of Temple Lane studios and follow the steps of recording artists. You can even see some of Windmill Lanes old recording equipment, a real part of Irish Music History

Rock out yourself

You will even have the opportunity to rock out on stage an sing your own rocking tune. Become the rockstar you have always wanted to be. You never know your music career could be launched through our facebook page!

We had a brilliant time today at your museum, we brought our 18 month old child he was made welcome and got up to play with the drum kit in the practice room. Great guide which was very knowledgeable, all in all a great day and great value for money. We will return.
